This is a gorgeous, antique kilt pin or brooch, which is made of Serling silver and is set with two small slabs of different coloured agates and a Cairngorm stone on the top. The top is nicely shaped as a sword pommel, and the Cairngorm stone is bright red, not the usual pale orange or yellow colour. The back is stamped Sterling Silver. The catch is an old, non-safety catch, but holds the pin perfectly well in place. Judging from the old catch, I would date this item to ca. 1900. The brooch is 5cm long and is in excellent condition.
