This is a Victorian 18 Ct gold ring, which is set with a central ruby surrounded by 8 seed pearls. The stones are arranged in a pointed oval shape, which is 1.2cm long and 8mm wide. The ruby is 2mm long and 1mm wide, and the pearls are 1.5mm in diameter. The inside of the ring is hallmarked as 18 carat for Birmingham 1873 with an additional kite mark. Considering that the ring is 145 years old, it is still in good condition, but there is wear to the pearls and one of the pearls has a tiny bit missing. This is far more noticeable on magnified photographs than with the naked eye. It is still a beautiful item of high quality, which would have been rather expensive at the time. The ring is size I and weighs 3.11 grams.
