This is a heavy, chunky 9 Ct gold necklace, made in 1994, but designed in the style of an antique watch chain with a T-bar. It has two catches, which are like the old catches of an Albert chain to which you used to attach a pocket watch, but they now fasten into each other at the back of your neck. The necklace has sequences of 3 oval links, followed by two interlocking oblong links. The oval links are 5mm x 4mm, and the double oblong links are 2cm long and 3mm wide. The entire chain is 18 ½” (47cm) long. Attached by two extra links to the centre of the chain, there is 3.6cm long a T-bar. The central link of the chain is hallmarked for Sheffield 1994 (import mark) with the maker’s initials of M.V. , and the T-bar is stamped 375 for 9 carat gold. The colour of the gold is a rich, deep yellow with a slight tinge of rose gold to it. The chain weighs a respectable 33.13 grams and is in excellent condition – a stunning necklace that will not fail to impress.
