This is a beautiful Art Deco necklace, similar in the style of our own Edwardian lavalier pendants, but unlike the Edwardian pieces, which are made of gold, this is made of silver. It is set with a number of white, blue and light brown stones, which I cannot identify and which may be paste. The main part of the pendant is 3cm long and 2.4cm wide. The two ends of the chain are gathered together around another stone at around 2cm above the pendant, from where they spread out again with a length of 17 1/2″ (ca. 44cm). The back is stamped with a tiny round French hallmark, with the word “DEPOSE” and the number 935. This number stands for high grade silver, better than 925 Sterling silver. There is a extra stamp on the catch of the chain, reading “Sterling”. The necklace is in excellent condition, an unusual and gorgeous item, which will not fail to attract attention.
