This is a very unusual top quality vintage gold and opal pendant, I would think from the 1970’s or thereabouts.
It features a beautiful small natural welo opal from the mines of Ethiopia. The opal is domed, 7mm in diameter and of approx. 1 carat. The opal has a green/grey background colour with bright rolling flashes of red, orange, yellow and green across its entire surface T
he pendant itself is stamped “333”, which is a German standard for solid 8 carat gold.
It is made of three different gold colours, with the side hoops in yellow gold, the top hoop in white gold and the bottom hoop in rose gold. It is 33mm high, 27mm across, with a hinged suspension loop a further 9mm high.
It is in excellent overall condition, with no damage/repair or obvious signs of wear.
A beautiful and unusual piece, for those who like something different and exclusive in their jewellery.
